Technical efficiency and distance to a reverse convex set
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the problem of determining the distance to a reverse convex subset in a normed vector space. The problem was minimized to a finite number of independent linear programming concerns by using a suitable duality theorem. It was then shown that an efficiency index supports a strong economic interpretation through the concept of profit function. Results indicated a correlation between two types of indexes comparing production units.

Comment on D.J. White, "A characterization of the feasible set of objective function vectors in linear multiple objective problems": European Journal of Operational Research 52(1991) 361-366
Article Abstract:
D.J. White is mistaken in proposing a technique for solving linear multiple objective problems by employing convex polyhedral cones related to the problem in lieu of the Fourier method. Algorithms based on the Fourier process are not tiresome and the Fourier method is closely related to the theory of polyhedral cones. Therefore, the techniques based on polyhedral cones will eventually be similar to Fourier-based methods.
