Testing dynamic oligopolistic interaction: evidence from the semiconductor industry
Article Abstract:
A test is conducted to find whether the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) industries take into account the intertemporal strategic effect of their contemporaneous output decision on their rival's future output decision. The empirical results indicated that the firms behave strategically and price-cost margins are overestimated in a precommitment specification.
