The European Union decides it might one day talk to Turkey
Article Abstract:
Turkey has become an official candidate for membership of the European Union (EU), though full negotiations will not be carried out over the short term. There are a total of 13 candidates for EU membership, which include full accession candidates such as Poland and the Czech Republic. Relations between Greece and Turkey have improved following earthquakes in both countries, and this has helped pave the way for Turkey. Relations with Ukraine and Russia have not improved, while Turkey has become more attractive, and is a US ally.
