The Eurotunnel rights issue part one: strategy

Article Abstract:

Eurotunnel announced an 858 million pounds sterling rights issue in 1994 and succeeded in raising funds although no dividends are scheduled to be paid until 2004. The company also lacked revenues prior to May 1994. The rights issue has been seen as an example of successful management of psychological aspects of the issue. The project that Eurotunnel has been involved in has a wider significance than considerations relating to costs and benefits.
