The disunited state of Bosnia

Article Abstract:

NATO forces have occupied Bosnia since the Dayton, OH, peace agreement that stopped the fighting between the Muslims, Croats, and Serbs of the area, but sharp divisions remain one year before the forces are scheduled to depart. Some of the many remaining obstacles are discussed.

Six Central American countries are meeting to develop a plan for economic union and are negotiating bilateral agreements with nations outside the region. A balance of payment crisis and competition caused by other regional trading blocks are incentives for joining forces.

The Puebla-to-Panama Plan proposed by Mexico is a development plan for Central America and southern Mexico. The plan aims to boost integration in Central America and boost economic and social development.
