Schroder bores them rigid

Article Abstract:

Germany's new chancellor, Gerhard Schroder, stressed that he supported improvement, but he did not want to change everything. Schroder is not a rhetorical master, which makes him similar to his predecessor Helmut Kohl. However, Schroder's power to determine Germany's future may not be as firm as Kohl enjoyed during his 16-year tenure.

The publication of Edward Heath's memoirs, 'The Course of My Life,' brings up arguments about his advocacy of entry into the European Community. Some critics claimed that he failed to explain sufficiently the loss of sovereignty implied in joining the union. Nevertheless, he must be commended for his achievement.
