The science of the lambs

Article Abstract:

The Roslin Institute, in Edinburgh, Scotland, succeeded in cloning Dolly the sheep using nuclear transfer (NT) and the technology will be worth billions of pounds in the 21st century because it may allow scientists to produce disease-resistant crops and cure diseases. A treatment for Alzheimer's disease has already been developed which involves introducing young brain cells into sufferers. Roslin Bio-Med, as it has now become, plans to use NT to alter animal hearts so they can be used in human transplant operations. Other companies are likely to capitalize on the technology.

So far, yet so far

Article Abstract:

Companies may find that outsourcing information technology (IT) activities is cheaper than employing their own IT staff. The services provider is able to use its stronger purchasing power to obtain better deals on hardware and software, while managers obtain improved control over budgets and expenditure as they pay a fixed sum for IT services. However, the services provider must be able to fully understand the client's business and goals.
