Article Abstract:
Pres Clinton's plans to raise $550 million by revising Western States' land use policy had to be abandoned after opposition arose. This and the successful Republican filibuster on his economic plan should indicate that Clinton will need to compromise on certain issues.

Article Abstract:
Pres Clinton has given his backing to NAFTA, but he wants Congress to pass supplemental legislation to address environmental and labor concerns. Opposition to the agreement is rising in the US, and it remains to be seen if it will ever be adopted.
