Researchers at New Mexico's Los Alamos National Laboratory announced to the 'New York Times' that they have measured the mass of the neutrino. The measurement, if accurate, could help solve a number of theoretical problems in particles physics and cosmology, but could create new ones as well.

Fermilab, Chicago, IL, is excited about the possibility of discovering a 'top' quark to match the 'bottom' quark discovered in 1978. The process of shifting through the particles created by the accelerator is difficult and truly unique new particles are rare.
