Toyota jumps to cinema ads

The Ontario Toyota Dealers Assn has launched a new cinema ad. The ad, which was handled by Gee Jeffery and Partners of Toronto, Ontario, features a 'behind-the-scenes' making of a Toyota TV commercial, in which dealers are taught how to execute 'the Toyota jump.' It is intended to distinguish Toyota dealers from other dealers and will run on 700 cinemas in Ontario starting in Jan 2000. TV and print ads will run until Mar.

Canadian players may ape AOL deal

Canada's media firms will be significantly influenced by the merger of America Online Inc (AOL) and Time Warner Inc In fact, Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications have already began merger negotiations, a deal which Initiative Media President Hugh Dow compares to the AOL-Time Warner merger. According to Dow, the stock price of the two firms has been adjusted accordingly and will be completed within a year.

Globecareers' $7M to Ranscombe
Article Abstract:
Globecarees.com has awarded a $7-million contract to Toronto, Ontario- based ad agency Ranscombe and Co in Dec 1999 for the rebranding of its new Web site. The contract involves a multimedia ad campaign, including outdoor, print and Internet ads. The ad campaign will debut in late Jan or early Feb 2000. The new jobs Web site is a joint initiative of Torstar Corp and Globe Information Services.
