Article Abstract:

India's upsurge in tourism was the result of deregulation or the adoption of the 'open skies' policy in aviation. The hospitality sector in the budget and mid-market segments also boomed. However the country only shares 0.9% of market share in the world tourism. Poor infrastructure, talent crunch and other factors that plague Indian tourism are discussed.

Taiwan offers a way to peace

The chairman of Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, Mr. Jaushie Joseph Wu, calls for China to cooperate in the peaceful co-existence by bilateral discussions instead of aggressive posturing. The Taiwanese investments and trade with China is also discussed.
