The findings in the journal Diabetes Care, informs that sweet potatoes, which are rich in beta-cryptoxanthin, an antioxidant, helps balance levels of the glucose-regulating hormone insulin, thereby decreasing the risk of type 2 diabetes by 58 percent. Dutch researchers inform that the high vitamin A content reduces blemishes by lowering the sebaceous glands' production of pore-clogging oil.
