Unocal pays 2.95 million euros to settle price-fixing suit

Article Abstract:

Unocal Corp. has reached an agreement to pay a fine of $3 million (2.95 million euros) as a settlement for a price fixing lawsuit in California. The company was charged with gasoline price fixing. Unocal's decision leaves eight other major oil firms as defendants. Under the agreement, Unocal does not acknowledge any guilt. Unocal claims that the case has no merit and that it only agreed to the settlement as a "business decision."
