Volvo may take a role in fight to control Dennis
Article Abstract:
AB Volvo plans to interfere in the fight between Mayflower Corp. and Henlys Group to control Dennis Group PLC, according to the Sunday Telegraph newspaper. The story said that Volvo could lend financial help to Henlys to enable it to top any offer made by Mayflower. Mayflower plans to acquire Dennis Group of the UK, which makes chassis and specialist-vehicle, for 450 pence a share, valuing Dennis at about 255 million pounds sterling. The cash offer would be financed by new bank facilities. Meanwhile, Dennis' board is studying the offer, but advised shareholders to just wait for the meantime.
