WIPRO GEARS UP FOR GLOBAL LEADERSHIP
Article Abstract:
Mr Azim Hasham Premji, the chairman of Wipro Corporation intends to make the company a global leader. He has inducted new persons into the board and has reassigned the responsibilities of key persons. The Rs1,046 crore infotech business group has been divided into two divisions-Software and Services, Systems and Services. Mr Ashok Soota, the group president will now handle software and service business. Mr Arun Thiagarajan who has been freshly inducted into the board will manage the system and service business. The consumer care and lighting group will be handled by Mr PS Pai. Wipro's other group companies include Wipro GE Medical Systems Ltd (WGMS), Wipro GE Medical Biomed (WGMB), Wipro Finance (WF) and Wipro Fluid Power (WFP). WGMS will be handled by Mr DA Prasanna, WGMB by Mr Vinod Wahi, WF by Mr Thanu Kumar and WFP by Mr MS Rao. (um)(vr)

WIPRO ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS BAGS SEI CMM LEVEL 5 STATUS

Wipro Infotech has secured the SEI CMM Level 5 quality accreditation for its enterprise solutions. It is now the only Indian company to have received this certification. It has already been assessed for the SEI CMM Level 3. Wipro Infotech is an international provider of application software development, maintenance and re-engineering services. (ag)
