Microsoft Corp. is adding encryption software from China National Computer Software and Technology Service Corp. to its Windows operating system packages sold in China. The measure is probably a response to rumors that Windows makes computers open to spying, and it could boost confidence from the government and large Chinese businesses.

China Unicom defers wireless pacts
Article Abstract:
China Unicom Group has given no reasons for its delay in signing contracts with Motorola Inc., Lucent Technologies, both of the United States, and other vendors for approximately $1.7 billion worth of CDMA wireless equipment. Other vendors who have been promised contracts are Samsung Electronics Co. of Seoul, Nortel Networks Corp. of Canada, Telefon AB L.M Ericsson of Sweden and Alcatel SA of France.
