We have the technology
Article Abstract:
Lucent Technologies plans to make acquisitions and its actions could have an impact on the world telecoms equipment industry for some years. The world market is likely to be worth $650 billion in 2001, Lucent forecasts. A number of factors are driving the market, such as the internet, liberalization, mobility and globalization. Cisco is a major rival to Lucent, but customers are likely to spread orders among a number of companies, which should benefit Nortel.
