Why Alitalia's rebound is elusive

In an attempt to save Alitalia S.p.A., the Italian government is selling off part of its controlling share in the struggling airline, and is hoping that a private sector investor will help the airline to restructure. However, government stipulations about maintaining staffing levels and services cast doubts on the airline's future financial viability.
