Louisiana's commissioner of financial institutions' Ken Pickering shares his ideas on the state's banks and savings and loan associations. Understaffed at the moment, Pickering says 25 more bank examiners would mean every institution could be evaluated every 18 months. Louisiana's state charted S & Ls are in good shape due to a prudent loan policy.
