Handle hot Google stock with care

Google's revenue and profit has more than doubled in the third quarter of 2004, resulting in increase in its share prices. It is suggested that Google stock should be handled with care, because if employees and other insiders are freed from restrictions on selling their shares, the law of supply and demand could drive the share prices down.

After the election, gauging the health of the stock market

The results of the stock market after the US election reveal that Standard & Poor (S&P) 500 earnings had risen by 14.1 percent in the quarter ended September 2004. S&P forecast an earnings gain, of 21.5 percent for all of 2004 but is expected to decrease to 10.1 percent in 2005.

Indexers still out-earning managed funds
Article Abstract:
The findings state that there is intense competition between the managed and indexers styles of mutual fund. Only 22 percent of the managed funds studied beat the index funds in the 10 years ended 31 December 2003.
