Heinz moves Ore-Ida from Idaho to Pittsburgh
Article Abstract:
H.J. Heinz Co. has verified that it will move the headquarters of its Ore-Ida Foods Inc. unit from Boise, ID, to Pittsburg, PA, as part of a string of efforts to scale down Heinz's foods businesses in North America. The arrival of Ore-Ida in Pittsburg will bring roughly 130 jobs, some of which will be occupied by employees who elected to transfer from Boise. However, the move will lead to job reductions totaling approximately 200. Heinz plans to merge the headquarters functions of Ore-Ida with its North Side, PA-based Weight Watchers frozen food subsidiary. The combined operation will then be named Heinz Frozen Food Co.
