Work to resume on long-delayed riverfront Hyatt
Article Abstract:
Penn's Landing Partners is to resume construction of the 350-room Hyatt Regency Hotel in Philadelphia's Center City, despite the continued threat posed by neighborhood lawsuits against the city. If the $62 million hotel project does not resume construction by Mar 1999, it may not be completed in time for the Republican National Convention beginning July 29, 2000. The company expects a large drilling rig to arrive by Feb 18, 1999 to begin boring holes for concrete pilings. If the drilling begins in time, the hotel could be complete by June 2000.
