Article Abstract:
Cases of corruption in Louisiana are discussed. Federal prosecutors believe that the announcement of corruption charges against politicians is actually an indication of positive development, since it signals the state's tough stand against crime. The sentencing of Will Langlinais, former Iberia Parish President, for malfeasance and use of public funds on his property, is discussed. Other corruption cases involving other officials are also presented.
