The Goudchaux's/Maison Blanche department store, The Village, and the Broadmoor Theater are three of the most notable institutions in Baton Rouge. Goudchaux's/Maison Blanche was acquired in 1998 by Dillard's and was closed in 2000, while The Village and the Broadmoor Theater closed in 1992 and 2005, respectively. These institutions' contribution to the city are acknowledged.
