America Online Inc. conferred its 'An Affair to Forget' award on Philadelphia in 2004 after a survey found that city residents ranked first in using several different instant messaging (IM) screen names to avoid contact with ex-girlfriends or boyfriends. In other news, Philadelphia's United Food and Commercial Workers Local revealed that its simplified approach to pension investments added millions of dollars to its members' retirement plans as the stock market rose in the previous year.
