Concern mounts over expansion of power-line capacity
Article Abstract:
Electric utility Conectiv Inc. and several Shore communities are fighting over Conectiv's proposal to replace 69-kilovolt lines with much larger 230-kilovolt lines through Atlantic and Ocean Counties to support the growing energy needs of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The company is trying to get approval from the Board of Public Utilities for a route that winds partly along the Parkway and partly along the originally proposed path, as the State authorities have rejected their proposal.
