Rite Aid says profit hurt by mail-order drugstores

Rite Aid Corp. lowered its revenue and profit forecasts for the year 2004 as it faced increased competition from mal-order pharmacies. Rite Aid, which does not have its own mail-order business, was hurt in the second quarter of this year by a United Auto Workers contract in Michigan that required prescriptions to be filled by mail order through pharmacy-benefits managers.
