Randall Jenkins, and partners have founded a real estate syndication and development firm, known as JNC Cos. They sell shares in syndicates, based on the equity of participating investors, which they use as collateral for obtaining loans from financial institutions. After 5 years, JNC has 250-300 investors and manages 21 projects worth $240 million in retail value.

Garcia's rebounds after stale stock performance

Garcia's and Famous Restaurants are beginning to be profitable, after years of losses. The turn around is attributed to Dennis Mullen, Garcia's chairman. His strategy was slower growth, and combine many operations of the two chains, as well as cut administrative and operational costs wherever possible.
