A break with the norm: A case of Norwegian litigation

The events occurred in the Jon Johansen case are mentioned where Jon was accused of having gained unlawful access to movies and software contained on region-one-encoded DVDs by breaking the protective device content scramble system (CSS). However, the copyright situation is getting increasingly confusing as the film and music industries want to strengthen the laws whereas the technology industry wants people to buy their products that are capable of copying anything.

AVEX 2001: getting information from afar

The 2001 International Vending Exhibition featured many telemetry products. Remote monitoring of vending machines through cellular data devices allows vendors to keep better track of inventory and cash supplies. The coin-operated amusement industry could learn from the vending industry's use of telemetry how to better integrate technology with products.
