A kinder, gentler VCR
Article Abstract:
Most video cassette recorders (VCR) are hard to operate. Numerous VCR owners attest to the difficulty in setting the VCR clock and in manipulating the control buttons. Most users believe that the machine could be enhanced by simplifying its operations. For instance, the merging of the stop, rewind and eject buttons into a single button, the usage of multi-shaped color-coded buttons, the installation of an LCD status indicator and the automation of the rewind and eject functions can very well eliminate the difficulties encountered by most VCR owners.

Getting into design
Article Abstract:
The selection of a reputable design school is one of the very first things that an undergraduate student must consider. Although there are well established methods for applying to various colleges, there are pertinent steps to be considered in maximizing the student's chances of getting into a program of choice. A series of preparatory steps such as self-evaluation, portfolio preparation and the consultation of prominent design firms should help the student select the appropriate school.
