A polysomnographic study of morning and afternoon sleep quality during simulated night shift work
Article Abstract:
The effects ofmorning and afternoon sleep strategies on the sleep quality of night shift workers are investigated, and the evaluation of sleep quality is through polysomnographic and subjective measures. Results show that both the morning and afternoon sleep are characterized by deep sleep and short sleep onset latencies, therefore no conclusion is drawn as to which sleep strategy is more beneficial.

Effects of shift schedules on fatigue and physiological functions among firefighters during night duty
Article Abstract:
The effects of the firefighters' night schedule on their subjective and objective fatigue and physiological functions are examined. A night-duty shift schedule with undisturbed naps should be considered because irregular sleeping patterns during their shifts causes many complaints of subjective fatigue and adversely affects physiological functions.
