A problem with precision?

Article Abstract:

Missile systems used to neutralize air defenses, such as the AGM-130 electro-optically guided missile and the Joint Standoff Weapon AGM-154 glide missile, are replacing the AGM-88 high-speed antiradiation missile as the antiradar missile of choice in recent conflicts. This is reflective of the radar system integration tactics presently used by air defense radar operators. The systems are members of a class of missiles that can be easily aimed at known geographical areas instead of at radar signatures.

Indian Navy tests missile

Article Abstract:

The Indian Navy's test of the Dhanush has been termed as partially successful by the press. Dhanush is a surface-to-surface missile from the Subhadra, a converted patrol craft. The significance of the test is that it proves that India has something that is almost similar to the secure second-strike strategic force that the superpowers have built. It also provides Third World countries with an inspiration to create their own secure or reasonably secure deterrents.

Smaller bombs offer stealthy aircraft greater firepower

Article Abstract:

The US Air Force has been sponsoring the development of miniature guided bombs which offer only a fraction of the explosive payload of conventional guided bombs. The argument in favor of such weapons include much easier shipping, greater carrier striking power and simplified underway replenishment. An alternative argument is the coming of a new generation of explosives that will be at least an order of magnitude more powerful than its predecessors.
