Can Australia's good fortune last?
Article Abstract:
Australia's prosperity at the end of the 20th century can continue if the Australian dollar value continues to drive up commodity prices and if the goods and services tax to be implemented on Jul 1, 2000, maintains the nation's budget in surplus. Australian dollar value will probably not exceed over 70 US cents in this cycle.
