Washington, weather wreaking havoc

Article Abstract:

Stock trading has been negatively affected by the deadlock in the congressional debate over deficit reduction. Investors have adopted a wait-and-see attitude in response to the government shutdowns, which were a result of the stalemate situation. Most affected were firms with government contracts. Information dissemination on insider trading has likewise been delayed by inclement weather.
