Adaptation in vertical relationships: Beyond incentive conflict

Article Abstract:

The analysis of adaptation in theories of economic organization beyond traditional considerations of incentive conflict is discussed. It is also shown that performance differences across modes of procurement arise as a function of the match between adaptive capacity and adaptation requirements associated with the exchange, and not only the match between governance form and transaction hazards.

Article Abstract:

The ways in which investors select information about firms undertaking an initial public offering (IPO) that can affect investor decisions is presented. The composition of a firm's top management team can signal organizational legitimacy that in turn affects investor decision and such signals are critical especially when objective measures of firm quality are not easily available.
