Admiral sees Congress backing LCS in spending bills
Article Abstract:
Rear Admiral Charles Hamilton said at a Naval Sea Systems forum for defense journalists, that Congress would support the future Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) in the war on terrorism and fully fund it. LCS is a small and coastal fighter, and can perform a wide variety of missions, compared to all other platforms, which cannot bring such a wide variety of capability to fight as the LCS can.

Major funding jump urged for port, maritime tech procurement
Article Abstract:
The need to provide a vast funding for port and maritime security by the Congress is described. This will enable the Navy to focus on buying new technology such as screeners to check cargo containers for weapons of mass destruction or terrorists slipping into U.S. ports.
