Alliant wins $126 million in ammo-related work

Article Abstract:

Alliant Techsystems (ATK), a manufacturer of ammunition, has won a $126 million contract to continue manage and modernize the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, Virginia, and produce a variety of medium-caliber ammunition and rocket propellants. The Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC) has awarded ATK an additional $29.6 million to modernize the Radford AAP along with $58 million for the medium-caliber tactical and training ammunition.

Army, industry address Ammo shortfall

Article Abstract:

The Army wants to boost the production of that feed assault rifles and machine guns to address an ammunition shortage across the United States military brought by the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hence, the Army is planning to award a contract in fiscal 2005, for an industry systems integrator that would coordinate production among qualified domestic and foreign ammo makers.

EADS: Path to dominance runs through U.S., Asia

Article Abstract:

European aerospace giant EADS is executing a global growth strategy that places special focus on defense and civil-aviation markets in the United States and along the Pacific Rim. EADS wants countries in Asia and the Pacific principally China, Japan and South Korea to account for 30 percent of its global sales by 2015, which would make them equivalent to the U.S. market.
