Multiplexed electrical detection of cancer markers with nanowire sensor arrays

Article Abstract:

Highly sensitive, label-free, multiplexed electrical detection of cancer marker is described using silicon-nanowire field-effect devices in which distinct nanowires and surface receptors are incorporated into arrays. Nanowire arrays allowed highly selective and sensitive multiplexed detection of prostate specific antigen (PSA), PSA-alpha 1-antichymotrypsn, carcinoembryonic antigen and mucin-1, including detection to at least 0.9 pg/ml is undiluted serum samples.

Antibodies cut down to size

Article Abstract:

Researchers have reduced the size of the monoclonal antibodies and have shown that the peptides can deliver a conjugated cytotoxin to tumors with high specificity and that the peptide-toxin fusions have penetrated into the tumor tissues than the parental antibodies.
