Apple must conquer multiple obstacles in multimedia market, analysts say

Apple Computer Inc is preparing to launch its first multimedia-capable computers and new PowerBook notebook computers in Oct 1992. The multimedia computers are capable of processing audio, video, graphics, animation and text but requires compact disc-read only memory (CD-ROM) software. The computer company may include a CD-ROM dictionary, encyclopedia, thesaurus, and educational and recreational software as a package. These computers are geared towards the business and consumer markets for training or presentation purposes.

Culture clash: Unisys, HP, Pfizer bridge gap between techies and reps

Unisys Corp, Pfizer Inc and Hewlett-Packard Co have integrated their own information systems departments, sales personnel and marketing divisions. The three companies' automation systems allows them to gather consumer information which is used by sales representatives and marketing managers. The efficiency of the integrated information, sales and marketing systems in the three companies was attributed to the departments' coordination.
