Aran Energy: enormous potential

Article Abstract:

Aran Energy is a UK oil and gas exploration concern which holds acreage in three UK exploration areas with potential. The company's Alba and Gryphon fields in the North Sea are at the peak of their production which should bring in cash for repaying debt by mid 1996. Aran's US arm brings in some 11% of the total production of the group. There may be substantial gas reserves in the East Potash field which was acquired in Mar 1994. Aran's shares are recommended for investors in Jan 1995.

Cairn Energy

Cairn Energy should benefit from an offshore gas find off India, and a rise in demand for petroleum, though exploration stocks have yet to become attractive again for investors, and the company has problems with gas assets in Bangladesh.
