Article Abstract:
GTE Government Systems Corp., Taunton, Mass., is being awarded a $20,582,305 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for incorporation of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) upgrade into the first digitized division, 124th Signal Battalion, to improve data throughput of circuit switch networks. Work will be performed in Taunton, Mass., and is xpected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2000 (basic year). Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 2, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-86-C-K022).

Alliant Techsystems, Hopkins, Minn., is being awarded a $13,945,992 firm-fixed-price contract for 1,491,550 each, 30 mm PGU-15/B cartridges in support of the A-10 Thunderbolt. Work will be performed in Radford, Va. (44%); Wilmington, Ill. (29%); New Brighton, Minn. (22%); Toone, Tenn. (3%); and Elk River, Minn. (2%), and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on April 17, 1998, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions & Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-98-C-0055).
