As Chambliss keeps fighting: Watchdogs press to kill embattled C-130J
Article Abstract:
A coalition of Washington watchdog groups is urging Congress to kill the embattled C-130J transport aircraft. The U.S. President George W. Bush's proposed budget for fiscal year 2006 also calls for canceling the C-130J program. Senator Saxby Chambliss is fighting to save the aircraft program and has threatened to block the nomination of Kenneth Krieg as undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology, and logistics unless Pentagon reverses course and keeps C-130J production on track.
