Public relations (PR) firms are reporting tremendous opportunities from the e-commerce market in the Asian region. The PR industry, which has been severely affected by the 1997 economic crisis in the region, reports that the Asian dot-coms are looking for firms with experience in handling online service accounts. Services required include packaging, hard-selling and image-building in order to present their business models to potential investors.

PR firms stake claims to Latin America e-market

Public relations companies are rushing to offer their services to online services firms in Latin America. The continent, one of the top growing markets for e-commerce in the world, is expected to grow by 130% from 1998 to 2003 in the business-to-business sector alone. A study conducted by International Data Corp has predicted that the number of Internet users in Latin America will grow to between 29.6 to 43 million by 2003.
