Auditor quality, signalling, and the valuation of initial public offerings

Article Abstract:

The valuation of an initial public offering is influenced by information provided by owners to potential investors. Entrepreneurs attempt to add credibility to their offer by employing various strategies, including signalling mechanisms. One such strategy is the inclusion of financial information supplied by a reputable auditing firm. Singapore's initial public offering market is being used as a field study for research in this area.

Separation of Ownership from Control and Acquiring Firm Performance: The Case of Family Ownership in Canada

Article Abstract:

Research on Canadian public corporations shows that market participants do not believe controlling shareholders utilize acquisitions and mergers to gain private benefits to the detriment of minority shareholders. Further findings are also discussed.

The opening, short, medium and long term performance of Canadian unit trust initial public offerings (IPOs)

Article Abstract:

A research is conducted to analyze the performance of Canadian unit trust initial public offerings (IPOs) in Canadian market, over a three to four year period. The impact of pricing on the performance of these IPOs is also analyzed.
