Article Abstract:
UK companies are seeing an increased number of mergers and acquisitions in 1995, which could continue for the following two years. Corporate liquidity is increasing and this tends to lead to increased activity in mergers and acquisitions. The UK stock market is also seen as relatively cheap. Takeover specualtion could end this by pushing up prices, argues an analyst from Panmure Gordon. Foreign companies have been especially important in UK acquisitions in 1995.
