Private investors are less active in the UK options market than in markets in some other countries. Private clients account for some 15% of trading volume in the UK, while in the UK, Swedenand the Netherlands they account for some 60%. Training in the options market is provided in Sweden and could work in the UK. New investors may find execution-only services offered by some UK brokers are beyond their abilities. There is also concern over risks involved in the UK following some major losses which have received publicity.
