Quest Software Ltd's CHECKBOOK is an accounting software package that offers nominal, purchase, and sales ledger modules. Payroll and stock modules also can be purchased. CHECKBOOK is an excellent budget accounting package for small businesses. CHECKBOOK offers genuine period accounting, straightforward installation, and user-friendly operations. CHECKBOOK runs in the DOS environment on an IBM PC/AT or PS/2 or compatible computers with a minimum of 555 kilobytes of memory and 10 megabytes of hard disk memory. The cost of CHECKBOOK is 495 pounds sterling for the basic system, 195 pounds for the payroll module, 145 pounds for the stock module, and 125 pounds annually for telephone support and upgrades.

This new software package offers numerous advantages which include efficiency, ease of use, functionality, ease of set-up, a very well-structured database, and effective documentation of case details. Easy-to-follow manuals are also provided. Disadvantages in using IPS are not significant enough to detract from the program's overall effectiveness.
