Reynolds Metals Co. - RLM

Article Abstract:

Insiders at Reynolds Metals Co are mum on the issue of stock option sales. Moreover, differing feedbacks are being received regarding aluminum inventories, future direction of aluminum prices and the effect of share price on major industry players. Insiders already disposed around 220,000 shares of stock to date. Value of shares ranged from a low of $63.88 to a high of $78 each for different periods. Reduced actionable holdings and exercisable options resulted in the sale of such shares.

A tale of disappearing holdings

Article Abstract:

An inspection of the several filings by five IBM officials showed that they have been disposing a large part of their excercisable options since early 1996. However, observers were made to believe that these insiders have been holding onto their options positions mainly because some of the shares were sold on the open market. The examination also revealed most of the insiders' shares were not sold on the open market.
