Capital structure and financial risk: evidence from foreign debt use in East Asia
Article Abstract:
Studies on economic conditions and nonfinancial firms in East Asia show that synthetic local currency debt use is correlated with significant decreases in market value, which may be attributable to lack of liquidity in the currency derivative market during the region's economic crisis.
