Carrier firepower: realizing the potential

Article Abstract:

The firepower potential of a carrier battle group can be determined by understanding the factors that constrainn naval firepower and the way the operational situation affects those factors. The technological advances in strike/fighter reliability have shifted the constraint to man from the machine for the next generation of firepower. It is, therefore, up to the Navy to pursue initiatives to ease perpsonel constraints and other factors that are under the control of the battle group commander such as its warfighting resources.

Article Abstract:

The Seahawk H-60 series helicopters form part of the major navies around the world. Equipped with different sensors, systems and operating concepts, the Seahawk has undergone or is undergoing upgrade and modifications to suit the needs of various navies. New innovations include multi-spectral sensors, long-range weapons and advanced processors that further push the aircraft's mission envelope.
